Over Earth Under Stars is fusion of ambient chamber, acoustic ambient, and progressive ambient music recorded from 2022-2023 by Nathan Speir in Winston Salem, NC and mastered by Robert Rich in Carmel, CA in 2023. This album has a pastoral air to it that may lead you to spend some time outdoors and or replay again for another listening lap through this pleasant park of 12 pieces of music.
This album is the next development of music along the lines of previous releases by Nathan, including Part of a Kindly Plan, Searching for Nepsis, and Smiles from a Melancholy Man. Over Earth Under Stars most dominant instruments are piano and acoustic guitar followed by electric bass guitar. Surrounding those instruments include synthesizers, frame drums, electric pad drums, Native American flute, strings, cello, and gamelan textures scattered throughout the album.

Two songs of the featured titles are adaptations of previous compositions and recordings which come from the 2006 album "Between Earth & Sky" by Nathan Speir. Those two songs are "Earth Flight" and "Become As Incense"; they were originally created as "Between Earth & Sky" and "Rising Incense of Peace". Both adaptations are reworks, re-invented versions that take on a whole new character while including several motives from the original.
